THE CONTAGIOUS FAITH
THE CONTAGION OF FAITH
Hebrews 11:32; Judges 4:1-24
Have you ever had the experience of infecting someone else with faith? Probably you have done this without being aware of it; but if our faith is to speak to others it must be real and vital. It must be contagious, and it must be so real to us that we cannot keep it to ourselves. Now consider what kind of faith a contagious faith is.
1. The quality of this faith must be strong.
Anyone who is ‘full’ of a certain disease is far more likely to infect others with that disease than someone who is suffering from only a slight attack – look up and compare Luke 5:12 and 16:20. In the same way, a Christian who is strong in faith is far more likely to influence others for the Lord than one whose faith is weak. Deborah’s faith was strong and therefore she could impart it to Barak – read Judges 4:6-9. We are reminded of George Muller, whose faith was so strong that hundreds of thousands of men and women the world over have found their faith strengthened even by hearing of him, and certainly by reading about him. Can you think of someone whose faith has infected and inspired you? How strong is your faith – strong enough to be contagious?
2. The channel of this faith may be weak.
It surely was weak in this case, for when God wanted to subdue a mighty kingdom He imparted the faith to a woman – look up Judges 4:4. Look also at verse 3, where we read of the strength of the enemy, and compare 1 Corinthians 1:26-29, and notice the words in Isaiah 33:23 – “the lame will carry off plunder”. The story of Gideon and the lesson of subtraction which he had to learn is all an illustration of this – look up Judges 7:2-7. We think of many men and women of God who were weak vessels, but they were channels through whom there flowed a faith that was mighty, courageous and contagious. Can you think of some people known to you whose faith has been imparted to others and affected, and infected them?
3. The sharing of this faith is imperative.
Deborah had the faith to believe that God wanted Israel’s enemies to be overthrown – we know this from Judges 4:6-7; but Deborah was a woman, and she could not lead a mighty army into battle. What could she do? – infect someone else, a soldier, with the faith to do it. Faith was needed if Jabin’s hosts, under the command of Sisera, were to be overthrown, and Deborah had that faith. But feet were needed as well as faith, and Deborah’s feet would hardly be suitable. Barak’s feet, however, could do the job; so Deborah, who had the faith, infected Barak, who had the feet – and once he was infected it was faith plus feet! See all this brought before us in Judges 4:8-9 and 5:12. Perhaps God has given you a vision of some great service He wants done, and you are unable to do it. Why not infect others with your faith for its accomplishment and stand with them and behind them as they go into action?
4. The motive of this faith should be pure.
When Deborah came to Barak she said, ‘Don’t imagine that you are going to get the glory for doing this thing, Barak! The Lord is going to gain the victory over our enemies and you’re only to be an instrument in His hands’ – read verses 8 and 9. What a great lesson there is here for us, for how we love to take just a little bit of the glory for ourselves! And when we do, the Lord is prevented from using us in a great way, or from doing a mighty work in our midst. The reason is that He will not give His glory to another – look up Isaiah 42:8 and 48:11.
5. The victory of this faith will be great.
We have this brought before us in Judges 4:15-16, 21 and 23. True faith in God is never disappointed and it is never misplaced; and there is a principle that we must always keep before us – it is this: “According to your faith will it be done to you” (Matthew 9:29). This has to do with the measure of faith. What is the measure of your faith? Deborah’s faith was strong, so the victory which was accomplished through her faith, which infected Barak, was a mighty victory (Judges 4:15-16 and 21 and 23), and compare 1 John 5:4.
In concluding this message I challenge every child of God to infect some one else with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Touch some one else life with acts of compassion.

I AM JUST A YOUTH
Sunday 18th June Impact Ministries, Mbale Uganda
Title: I am just a Youth!
Text: Jeremiah 1:4-10
4 Now the word of the LORD came to me
saying,
5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born
Iconsecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations."
6 Then I said, "Alas, Lord GOD! Behold, I do not know how to speak,
because I am a youth."
7 But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, ’I am a youth,’ because
everywhere
I send you, you shall go, And all that I command you, you shall speak.
8 "Do not be afraid of them, For I am with you to deliver you,"declares the LORD.
9 Then the LORD stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD
said to me, "Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.
10 "See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the
kingdoms, To pluck up and to break down, To destroy and to overthrow, To
build and to plant."
The book of Jeremiah contains the prophesies of a man called by God in
his youth. A heart broken prophet with a heart breaking message for his
generation.
In one of Judah’s darkest hour, God raised up a youth name Jeremiah. Against
all persecution and hardships, Jeremiah stood his ground and boldly proclaimed a message from God to a
stiff neck generation.
I believed that in this dark hour, God is raising up His Jeremiahs, young
man and young woman called by God who will attempt mighty works for Him.
In Jeremiah Chapter one, Jeremiah received a call from God. God told
Jeremiah that even before his was formed in his mother womb God already knew him and
had called him to be a prophet to the nations.
Jeremiah being very young was overwhelmed by the task that God has given
to him. Jeremiah exclaimed .No way God! I don’t know how to speak! I am just
a youth! Common man God that is not cool! God replied Do not say I am just a youth!
Are you running away from what God is calling you to do because you are just
a youth? I have good news for you! God is speaking to you right now, this
moment, this second "Do not say that I am just a youth!"
1Tim 4:12 “Let no one look down upon your youthfulness"
Three reasons why you should not be looking down upon your youthfulness
Don’t say I am just a youth because:
1. God has given you a Divine purpose.
As God has given Jeremiah a divine purpose for his time and generation, I
believed that God has given this generation of youths His divine purpose.
I see each and every youth that came into the fold as one with a divine
purpose in life.
As God has given Jeremiah a divine purpose God has called each and every one
of the youths
Young people do you see yourself as one with a divine purpose given by God?
- God uses young people and you do not need to look down upon
yourselves.
- David was used by God to slay Goliath when his was a youth.
- King Josiah was eight years old when he became King. At an age of 16 when
he was still a youth, he seeks the God of his father David and at an age of 22
he began to purge the land of Idolatry, bring revival to the land of Judah
once again.
2. God has given you Divine Backing. Jeremiah said but I am
just a youth! The task is too great for me. But God
replied Jeremiah, no Jeremiah your youth is not an excuse. Jeremiah you have
to be obedient to the task I have given to you.
Jeremiah was different. Me? No not me, the task is too impossible send
someone else!!!
God is saying what’s your problem Jeremiah? The whole of heaven is backing
you up.
3. God has given you Divine Empowerment
God touched the mouth of Jeremiah giving him the power of speech.
God will not leave you with a task and not empower you for that task.
Acts 2:17 AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,’ God says, ’THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF
MY SPIRIT UPON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY,
AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS;
Some of you will become evangelist for God and He will empower you.
Some of you will become pastors for God and He will empower you.
Some of you will go forth to the nations and He will empower you.
Conclusion:
Do not let anyone despise your youth. God has given you a divine
purpose; divine backing and a divine empowerment.

FASTING & PRAYER CAMP 2011
God led me to Isaiah 45:11 for the Theme for this years prayer and fasting "Ask me of things to come concerning my sons and concerning the work of my handa..."
Today is our second last day of 14 days of prayer and fasting. Our churches have been camped here to seek God. I have not seen such a powerful out pouring of the Holy Spirit for the last 10 year since I last organized Revival 2000 in Mbale town in Uganda. day by day I have witnessed the Holy spirit come upon the saints and God's presence come with a Divine visitation and manifestation.
Bishop Joshua Mulinge from Kenya joined us for two days and spoke a message about the coming Glory which is about to be manfested in the church. Pastor Richard also who accompanied Bishop Mulinge from Nairob, has been speaking to us daily on Revival.
I can sum up all God has been saying to us in this prayer season with one phrase" It is time for God to manfest himself to the sons of men" That is the song we have sung during this prayer and fasting period. We have been sing revival songs like " God's Power will move this mountain. it is not by might, but by my spirit the mountain will move" When the believers sing these songs the whole church is filled with prayer and crying. People want God to do something for them. God can do it again. We also sang " God's power is coming back again" . This is nothing but a revival breaking out. We hope to take this message accross the nation.
Tomorrow, we conclude the Prayer and fasting. Some of the key scriptures we have preached from include: Haggai 2:1-9, Amos 9:11-15, Joel 2:28-32 . God is restoring His church.

Impact Ministries Annual Convention Report
The annual Impact Ministries Convention opened today with over 3000 participants marching for Jesus through the Town of Mbale, Uganda. The believers sang praises and stopped at some points to intercede for the town. The Impact was greatly felt by the people who lined up the streets and others just joined the march. The March lasted one hour and culminated with the massive open air crusade which ended at 8.00pm. We saw over 200 people come to Christ in one night.
The convention will run for six days ending on Saturday 7th 2009. Part of the activities include commissioning our Impact Ministries Pastors hand book (a guide which I have written, typed and with simple cover) but rich with information and scriptures to help a pastor. Our beliefs, and main church doctrines and practices are covered including guidelines for conducting Weddings, funerals, water Baptism and Holy Communion. I am very happy with this and I am sure it is a milestone for our ministry as for the first time our pastors will have a Pastors hand book to use a long with their Bibles.
One other significant activity will be a prayer breakfast we have conducted for Christians in the Market place. We will be speaking to about 100 top Christian professionals and civil servants in Mbale town.
The annual Crusade and Conference ended on Saturday 7th November. This last day was the largest attendance which attracted a big crowd. Over 100 people gave their lives to Christ.
At the conference I handed out the Pastor's Hand book to the Pastors. The book is 28 pages and only just photocopied from my typed copy. This is a vital book for our Pastors as it contains the guide to what we believe, Bible doctrines and practices. The Pastors rejoiced as they have no access to any books to help them in their Pastoral work. With the Theological Background which I have, I decided to put together a simple pamphlet to help our Pastors. Hopefully, this will be a printed book in future when the Lord provides the funds. We would like to see this Pastor's book printed. And copies made available not just to our pastors but also Pastors of other non Impact Ministries Churches.
An amazing part of this report is that the Police chief, Superintendent Moses Bakwana, attended our last day of the conference and crusade and spoke in our meetings. He is born again and worships in our church every Sunday. We have found open doors to reach the police and Military with the Gospel. The Superintendent also attended our prayer Breakfast for the corporate and senior people in our town. Two senior Politicians also attended.100 guests were invited, and 80 turned up. I spoke to the guests on the theme: "The place of a Christian in the Market Place." The point emphasized is that believers can use their influence, careers, and vocations to build the Kingdom of God.
I would like to request you to continue to pray and support the work of Impact Ministries in Uganda. By the Grace of God we are Impacting our nation positively with the Power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are pushing from all fronts: Evangelism, Child care and reaching the elite in our society. You will be pleased to know that the Prayer Breakfast was all paid for by Faith Radio from our profits.
Without forgetting the cooking which took place in the kitchen. We used 500kgs of Rice, 100Kgs of beans, and other food stuff every day for six days to feed the conference delegates. The food was paid for from our missions and outreach funds from income generating activities. We were able to bring 2986 delegates to the conference. Delegates slept on mats on the floor of our church. Others used our classrooms from the orphanage. It was not comfortable, but the believers rejoice in the Lord for the good news they received from daily preaching and prayer sessions.
I strongly believe that this is a move of God. It is not our thing but God’s. We need partners who can help us push forward. It gets harder to move with a vision from God without strong supporters.

UGANDA PRAYER & FASTING DAY 11,12 Message by Pastor Okabe
Dear Brtheren, we are into the last days of 14 days of prayer and fasting at Impact Ministries. The Lord has spoke to us from His Word. daily we hear from him and we focus on praying.
THE GRACIOUS AND COMPASSIONATE GOD Jonah 4:1-11
God instructed Jonah to share His mercy and compassion with the people of Nineveh but Jonah did the opposite. Instead Jonah did the opposite. It is our human nature to try to run do the opposite of what God says. We are always trying to run away from God's assignment. God's compassion is our compassion.
The driving motivation for us in Impact Ministries is passion for God and Compassion for the Lost. It is this which has moved us into church planting and child care. The people of Nineveh were unchurched. But God was merciful and compassionate to them.
I have seen waht is happenning to people in Haiti and around the World. We have seen a lot of tragedy even here in Uganda. We have thousands dying in hospitals because of HIV/AIDS. Orphans and displaced children spending nights on the streets . But God is conpassionate. We must show compassion.
God wanted to save the city of Nineveh not to destoy it. God Knew Nineveh was ripe for Change. Uganda is ready and ripe for Change and so are the nations of the world.
When Jonah finally preached, the entire city believed the message and repented. The church in uganda is face with big challenges, Dealing with HIV, orphans and preaching agains evil. Ugandan perliament and the nation is besieged by the debate on homosexuality. A bill has been tabled in perliament to be debated and a low passed against Homosexuality. But America, and European donor countries have threatened to cut AID if Uganda makes laws against homosexuality.
I believe uganda needs a bibliccal message of Change. Well though hardened, Ineveh responded to the message of God, repented and fasted.
God led Jonah to understand His heart. The book of Jonah is a story of miraculous change in jonah and in Nineveh.
May God change our attitude to the Lost, to the poor and the needy.
May God help us to sow mercy and compassion
We are god's instruments. Let us yield to His voice and commission.
It is about God. His mission and His people. We have a cause. A worthy cause.
Let us spread God's mercy and compassion.
God has the answer!
