HAD the parents of Kyenzige Model Primary School in Kibaale district been able to raise the required sh5.5m shillings needed to install lightning conductors, yesterday’s tragedy in which 40 pupils were struck by lightning would have been averted.Fifteen children were critically injured in the thunder bolt that hit the school during a midday drizzle.Karubanga the Head Teacher said the school does not have lightning conductors and attributed the tragedy to that. He said they had just told the pupils to stop playing in the rain when they heard a loud bang. “We saw the pupils fall to the ground and others running away in fear,” he said.

She asked school administrations to install lightning conductors to avoid such tragedies. The deputy head teacher said most pupils were barefoot .Kyenzige Model Primary School has a population of 565 pupils.

IMPACT MINISTRIES UGANDA: Needs $5000 to install lightning conductors at Impact Child care orphanage in Mbale, Uganda to avoid this tragedy. Since this is happening in many parts of the country, the government
is enforcing the requirement for all schools, orphanages and crowded institutions to install lightning conductors.

Dear Brtheren, we are into the last days of 14 days of prayer and fasting at Impact Ministries. The Lord has spoke to us from His Word. daily we hear from him and we focus on praying.

THE GRACIOUS AND COMPASSIONATE GOD Jonah 4:1-11

God instructed Jonah to share His mercy and compassion with the people of Nineveh but Jonah did the opposite. Instead Jonah did the opposite. It is our human nature to try to run do the opposite of what God says. We are always trying to run away from God's assignment. God's compassion is our compassion.

The driving motivation for us in Impact Ministries is passion for God and Compassion for the Lost. It is this which has moved us into church planting and child care. The people of Nineveh were unchurched. But God was merciful and compassionate to them.

I have seen waht is happenning to people in Haiti and around the World. We have seen a lot of tragedy even here in Uganda. We have thousands dying in hospitals because of HIV/AIDS. Orphans and displaced children spending nights on the streets . But God is conpassionate. We must show compassion.

God wanted to save the city of Nineveh not to destoy it. God Knew Nineveh was ripe for Change.  Uganda is ready and ripe for Change and so are the nations of the world.

When Jonah finally preached, the entire city believed the message and repented. The church in uganda is face with big challenges, Dealing with HIV, orphans and preaching agains evil. Ugandan perliament and the nation is besieged by the debate on homosexuality. A bill has been tabled in perliament to be debated and a low passed against Homosexuality. But America, and European donor countries have threatened to cut AID if Uganda makes laws against homosexuality.

I believe uganda needs a bibliccal  message of Change. Well though hardened, Ineveh responded to the message of God, repented and fasted.

God led Jonah to understand His heart. The book of Jonah is a story of miraculous change in jonah and in Nineveh.

May God change our attitude to the Lost, to the poor and the needy.

May God help us to sow mercy and compassion

We are god's instruments. Let us yield to His voice and commission.

It is about God. His mission and His people. We have a cause. A worthy cause.

Let us spread God's mercy and compassion.

God has the answer!

AMEN
